From Brick:
Cody is a great singer, and a good friend as well,
so it is always hard when you part ways. The reason
for the change is that Cody is gone a great deal. He
sings for a living, performing a lot of theater and
broadway music, so it makes it hard for us to get together
often. It has been hard for us to move forward and especially
to play shows, and honestly that is the most enjoyable
part about being a musician for me, playing live for
the fans. We miss it and so we felt a new singer who
could be around more would be great, the problem was
we had no idea where to even begin looking for someone
to replace Cody. Pretty big shoes to fill, and quite
possibly the most important part of a band. Mike just
fell right into the situation, we weren't even advertising
that we needed a new singer. Someone gave us his number
and said to call Mike if the need ever arose. So we
gave him a call and to say the least, we were blown
away. Mike is amazing, and I can't wait for the fans
to hear him. He is a total professional and an incredibly
talented singer. Finally, we can play some shows for
you all, and we can really get moving forward with the
new album, which by the way is getting closer all the
time. I know that we are kind of pulling a Symphony
X and taking forever to get this new one done and released,
but progress is happening weekly, and the songs are
maturing as we rehearse them over and over. Come to
a show to hear some of the new music.
From Michael:
I have been a fan of Progressive Metal for many years.
My influences are many, including: Dream Theater, Fates
Warning, Queensryche, Megadeth and Killswitch Engage.
I have been searching for a Prog Metal band for the
last 3 years. Hourglass has the sound, talent and dedication
I have been looking for. For all of the dedicated Hourglass
fans out there: Music is my life and I am honored to
be a part of Hourglass. I look forward to seeing you
at the next show!
From Cody:
Unfortunately due to my career path, I am not able
to live in Utah any longer. As a band we have tried
to make it work to still have myself as the lead singer,
but I am not able to come to Utah often enough to play
as many live shows as desired. So with that, I will
no longer be singing for Hourglass. I will definitely
miss the band and everything associated with it, including
its members, the creative process, and of course performing
shows. I appreciate the last five years I have had to
be a part of Hourglass and want to thank all those that
helped to make it the success it is continually becoming.
Mostly, I want to thank all the fans for showing their
appreciation for our music and for all the support they
have given us over the years. I wish Hourglass only
the best with their new singer, and look forward to
the future music created.
