"I
am pleased to announce the departure of Chad Neth from
Hourglass. When Chad joined the band, he said he was
in it for the long haul. 8 months later, he quit. According
to what he told us, it was because he doesn't think
it looks good for him to be in a rock band, he doesn't
want to be away from his family, but instead wants to
possibly join the armed forces (?), or pursue a career
as a wedding videographer. He also said the band distracts
him from school. I guess for some reason that's a bad
thing. Ultimately, his reason for leaving, no matter
what he says, is that he doesn't love progressive rock
as much as we do, and his commitment level was not enough
for this band. He would much rather play something like
"Creed," or "Nickelback" as opposed
to something with an ounce of musical integrity. Anyone
who knows the music of Hourglass knows that we are full-blown
heavy progressive and will not compromise our sound
for anyone. The bottom line is Chad Neth is a has been
and we now have the singer who we feel will allow us
to become whatever we want to be. I am very pleased
to announce that Cody Walker is the new voice for Hourglass
and I couldn't be happier with this lineup change. Cody
has an extremely powerful and appealing voice, he sings
with emotion and the bottom line is that he ROCKS! I
look forward to working with Cody and continuing to
write new music for Hourglass."

"I
believe that everything happens for a reason. I am grateful
that Chad has left Hourglass as it has allowed myself
to be able to work with such talented musicians as Brick
and John. It is exciting as we are currently working
on new material for our next album, and I am confident
that anyone who appreciates good progressive music will
be very pleased with this album, as I am. I was very
impressed with "The Journey Into" as I first
was exposed to it and was also impressed with the professionalism
and commitment and talent level of this band. I could
tell from the start that this was not just another band, but
that it had potential to become a legendary success
and that is exactly what I expect. This is exactly what
I've been looking for and I am anxious as we begin this
journey together."

"I
am excited about the future of the band. It is always
a relief to have someone leave the band that is holding
the band back. Chad's heart lied within what I consider
to be mindless mainstream music, so I figured that he
would leave sooner or later. Many times his effort seemed
forced instead of natural. The reason why Chad worked
with Hourglass was because he has a great instrument,
but other than that he was lacking. The melodies were
all previously written, his knowledge and his musical
tastes were not satisfactory to Hourglass' standard,
so many times we had to tell him what and how to sing.
So it is refreshing to have Cody, an old friend, who
understands commitment to the art and genuinely enjoys
progressive music, add his chemistry to Hourglass. I
am excited to find new members of the band who are as
committed as Brick and myself. I feel the new music
we are writing is the best we have ever done."
