Brick's Update on the new album: July 31, 2008

Time again for an update on the progress of the new Hourglass album. We are nearly done with all recording. There are a few back-up vocals left for Eric to do and it looks like they will be done tomorrow. Mike has some doubling to do on a few songs and then just some minor things here and there. He also has to sing a song called "Faces" still. All guitars are done and all of the percussion is done now too. John did a full-blown African percussion section in "38th Floor." Congas, djembes, shakers and eggs of all kinds, and some drum from Turkey that I believe is called a Darbuka. The section sounds amazing. A few keyboard things are left for Jerry still, but it is really nearing the end of recording for the whole project. I hope to be mixing with Tony sometime during the early part of August. Could take a little while with over two hours of music to mix, but I can't wait to get started. The cover artwork is nearing completion and we will put it up on the website as soon as possible, as well as some new pictures of the band. After four years of writing for us, and four years of waiting for our fans, a new Hourglass album is just about done. I can't wait for everyone to hear it. I can almost see the finish line.
